Dear Families,
Welcome to 1st grade! I am very excited
to be your child’s teacher this year. As most of you know, this will be my
first year at EMES. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and the
rest of the community! Previously, I taught 1st and 2nd
grade at Fletcher Elementary School. I graduated from the University of Vermont
in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am
from upstate New York, and I currently live in Burlington. I love the beach,
dogs (I hope to get one soon), and exploring new places in Vermont. I am so
excited for this year at East Montpelier!
Before we start the school year, I wanted to give
you some information about our classroom. Our classroom number is 133, across
from Mrs. Zeilenga’s room. For this school year, I am asking that you provide
your child with the following materials. If this is difficult please let me
know.
·
Colored Pencils (12 or 24 pack is fine)
·
One box of tissues
·
One notebook (composition with ~100 pages)
·
Clorox/Lysol wipes
I will send out a copy of our daily schedule the
first week of school and post it on our classroom website. Communication is
important to me. I am the most responsive to email. Please email me at jfecura@u32.org.
If there is ever an emergency or change in end of day plans, please call the
office. To keep up with our daily 1st grade adventures, you may
follow me on twitter, @msfecurasclass – I try to tweet frequently to show the
community what we are learning.
Enjoy the rest of your summer! I am so excited to
begin learning with your first graders! It is going to be an amazing year!
Best,
Jessica
Fecura
